Quinta de Cidrô is located in the zone of São João da Pesqueira, which is one of the most highly regarded table wines areas of the Douro. Cidrô is the most recently acquired of the four major quintas of the Company. It has been transformed into a model experimental vineyard for the entire region. In virgen soils, cutting edge techniques are employed for planting the best cultivars in a 150-hectar area that is the largest contiguous single vineyard in the entire Douro region.

In this most privileged location, international varieties perform equally well as the local grapes. Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and the noble and adaptable Cabernet Sauvignon are some the foreign varieties that express here their better qualities whene vinified by the extensive enological know-how acquired by the company. What about the traditional varieties - Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Francisca, Alicante Bouschet and Tinta Barroca continue to show their inherent potentials.
