CAIPIROYAL – A different way of drinking Port wine
Real Companhia Velha, a Port and Douro wine producing company of more than 250 years of existence, has created an innovative and modern concept with the purpose of 'drawing' Port wine to the youth. 'Caipiroyal' is made from Royal Oporto Extra Dry White, with crushed ice, sugar, limes and fruit of your choice (strawberries, pineapple or lemon)

Quinta dos Aciprestes Reserva Douro Red 2003 has been awarded with a Gold Medal in this year's edition of the "Challenge International du Vin", one of the most prestigious wine contests.
Our Quinta de Cidrô Sauvignon Blanc 2005, Trás-os-Montes Region, was also awarded with a Bronze Medal.
Once again, these prizes confirm the international recognition of our wines' exceptional quality.

Real Companhia Velha celebrates in 2006 its 250th anniversay! An historic event of great importance in the Port trade, the Technical Team at the "Company" has anticipated the event with the production of many exciting wines to be released this year.
After a year of anxious inquiry by the press, trade and public, Real Companhia Velha announces the release in May of the next vintage of GRANJÓ LATE HARVEST. When the 2002 hit the shelves it created a sensation. The 2004 proves that the original was not a one-off accident of nature. Winemaker Jerry Luper argues that this one is even better the first. The nose is full of botrytised complexities of raisins, orange peel and ripe peach aromas while the palate is sweet, unctous and long. Order now because the waiting list is very long.
The anniversary year was the perfect moment to release a totally new product, ACIPRESTES RESERVA 2003. The Quinta dos Aciprestes, so ideally located for the culture of Touriga Nacional, now produces substantial quantities of the varietal. All the parcels produce excellent to outstanding wine. The crême de la crême goes into Evel Grande Escolha (more later) and the balance is blended with about 10% Touriga Franca from an adjoining parcel. This quintessential Touriga ages 16 months in a balance of new, one and two year small barrels. Big, rich, and long in Touriga Nacional character, its unbeatable price and outstanding quality will be hard to resist.
EVEL GRANDE ESCOLHA, first released in 1996, quickly became an icon through its representation of the great potential of the Douro. Initially, the blend was based squarely on the Aciprestes Touriga Nacional. As time moved on and the Fine Wine Divison team of viticulturists and winemakers discovered several small parcels of extremely high quality grapes, the strategy of blending was analized. The fantastic 2003 vintage was the turning point. GRANDE ESCOLHA 2003 brings together the best of three of the four quintas of the "Company." It is highly complex in aromas, and the mouthfilling intensity lasts forever.

Real Companhia Velha had its’ Certification of the Quality Management System renewed in November 2005, in accordance with the requisites of the NP EN ISO 9001:2000 norm. The Quality Certification of the company dates back to 1999 which has since then been awarded by the Portuguese Certification Association – APCER.
